This recipe is special to me because I grew up eating these cookies and it is the recipe that I have used the most
since I first started baking. In all honesty, I believe that this is the recipe on the back of the Toll
House chocolate chip bags, but I have had the recipe memorized for many years. My mom is the reason that we make
them as “squares” instead of actual cookies, which makes it special and important to me.
Ingredients:
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
2 sticks softened butter
2 large eggs
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla extract
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup packed brown sugar
1 bag chocolate chips
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375˚F
Combine all ingredients except for chocolate chips into a large mixing bowl. Beat or hand-mix until well
combined.
Beat or hand-mix chocolate chips into dough.
Coat a baking sheet with a non-stick cooking spray.
Pour all of the dough onto the baking sheet and spread it out evenly across the entire surface using your
hands or a spatula.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Let cool on baking sheet for several minutes, then cut into squares and enjoy!
